REAL IMPACT FOR CHILDREN AGED 5-9

Real impact for children aged 5–9

Supporting emotional development, behaviour, decision-making and early life skills through a structured, evidence-informed programme.

IMPACT

The Boss Bear Programme is a structured, evidence-informed programme supporting emotional development, behaviour and decision-making in children aged 5–9.

It also supports language and literacy through listening, discussion, reading, writing and reflection, while contributing to PSHE and personal development.

The programme focuses on building confidence, emotional awareness, decision-making and early financial understanding through engaging, practical learning.

PREVENTION APPROACH

Early intervention and prevention

The programme supports children before small difficulties develop into longer-term patterns.

By building emotional awareness, confidence and decision-making skills early, children are better equipped to manage challenges and develop positive behaviours over time.

• Resilience and problem-solving

HOW WE MEASURE IMPACT

We assess children’s development before and after the programme using simple, consistent measures.

We focus on:

  • emotional awareness

  • ability to calm themselves

  • decision-making

  • confidence

  • resilience

Responses are collected using a simple scale:

  • 1 = Never

  • 2 = Sometimes

  • 3 = Often

  • 4 = Always

LONG-TERM VALUE

The programme supports wellbeing, behaviour and life skills development in a way that complements existing school learning, PSHE delivery, and language and literacy development.

It contributes to personal development and readiness for life beyond the classroom.
